Women and Methamphetamine: Challenges in Treatment and Meeting Family Needs – The Women and Methamphetamine Webinar will focus on issues women who use methamphetamine encounter related to treatment services, root causes related to trauma and shame, and the added stress of pregnancy or children. Virginia Rondero Hernandez, Associate Professor at CSU Fresno, will identify emerging trends in methamphetamine treatment strategies that address the unique issues related to trauma and shame. Dr. Nancy Young, Director of the National Center on Substance Abuse and Child Welfare, will discuss the needs of children in families affected by methamphetamine use, policy and practice strategies in connecting with child welfare, as well as training resources.
