Weird Vicodin (Technically, the Generic hyrdocodone/APAP) Side Effects?
Question by Virginia: Weird Vicodin (technically, the generic hyrdocodone/APAP) side effects?
I had my wisdom teeth taken out and they gave me the Vicodin generic for pain. That was about a week ago. My prescription was for one pill every 6 hours as needed, but I think the most I ever took in one day was two pills maybe three, spaced out, on the first day (Thursday.) The following days (Friday-Sunday), I believe all I took was one pill a day. I tried right away to replace hydro use with naproxen sodium, with some straight acetaminophen thrown in separately a couple times.
It’s now Wednesday evening and it seems the longer I’m off the hydro (haven’t had it since Sunday afternoon), the worst my “side effects” are. From what I read they don’t seem like hydro withdrawal symptoms but rather feel most like the side effects I had as if I were still taking the medicine? It’s been confusion, brain fog, disconnecting with reality (think dream-logic and floating along “scene” to “scene”, except you’re awake), sleeping more and being tired but not always sleepy, crazy dreams, difficulties focusing, and having *weird* thoughts (things were I’m busy thinking on something and will suddenly realize what I’m thinking about and be horrified by it, it being out of character, even strongly against my moral convictions.) The things that’s extra weird is that they have been worse *off* the medicine than they were when I was on it, and it mostly seems to have only gotten worse over the past few days.
Anybody else experience long-lasting hydro side effects? Medical literature says it should be out of my system by now, but I know I don’t always metabolize pain killers normally (though if anything, experience says I go through them faster not slower.)
