Wha Are Some Medications for Parkinson’s Disease That Mimic or Replace the Dopamine Chemicals?

Question by James Bond: Wha are some medications for Parkinson’s disease that mimic or replace the dopamine chemicals?

Best answer:

Answer by Mags
First of all I know this is long – if you want to skip the narrative and the message, scroll down to the list. Even that is long because often these treatments are interlinked.

The levadopas/L-dopas are the drugs which seem to come to everyone’s mind first for treatment of Parkinson’s disease.
While some people feel that is a mistake because of the potential for increasing “off” times as the years go by, these are usually the first medication on the prescription pad when the doctor diagnoses PD. Because no one wants the symptoms. In combination with the MAO-Bs and some other meds waiting in the pipeline, there is potential for seriously impacting the progression and well as the symptoms of PD.

Coma Question……..?

Question by –: Coma question……..?
Can anyone explain me what are the 3 stages of coma?

Answer by I Love Yahoo Answers!
What is a Coma?

Coma is an extended period of unconsciousness from which a person cannot be aroused even with the most painful stimuli. Coma is not a disease. It is a symptom of a disease or a response to an event, such as a severe head injury, seizure or metabolic problem. Most comas do not last longer than four weeks. Some people in a coma shift to a persistent vegetative state, in which breathing, maintaining normal blood pressure, digesting and eliminating foods continues without the patient’s awareness. The vegetative state can last for years or decades. The outcome of a coma ranges from full recovery to death. Whether a person recovers, and to what extent, depends upon the cause of the coma and the type and extent of the brain damage.

Total Hip Replacement?

Question by Izzy_24: Total Hip Replacement?
My dad is having total hip replacement tomorrow and i just wanted to know some stuff about it. He is diabetic and has his blood pressure is a little high, he is also 49. Does any of that make the risks higher? What are the risks? How long is the surgery? How long will he be in the hospital after-wards? How long is the recovery time? Oh, he is having surgery on his left hip first then I think 6 weeks later he’s going to have surgery on his right hip. I just want to know what’s going to happen.
