My Cousin Is a Drug Addict and Is on Methadone Treatments?

Question by Siraco&Sophie: My cousin is a drug addict and is on methadone treatments?
My cousin is a major drug addict and is trying to get off of heroine so they are giving her methadone treatments. My family was just told that my cousins money is running out now to still recieve her methadone injections and that if she doesnt get the money to still take her methadone treatments then she is going to die. I know nothing about drugs or understand any of it so if my cousin can not get the money to pay for her injections will she really die and why will this cause her too die? My mother is the one who told me this and dont know alot of information on all of this or why they say she could die from this so if someone knows any information on any of this please let me know. Im really worried about my cousin now so could this really be true? Could she really die?

University Student With Opiate Problem, How Do I Quit?

Question by girlwithoutaplanet: University student with opiate problem, how do I quit?
HI! I am a straight A student with a moderate opiate problem (have been using for 4 months, on and off), when I try to stop I can deal with the mild physical symptoms, like aches and diarrhea (as my addiction is not severe), but the fatigue is so bad that I am pretty much catatonic during the day, so that makes me want to use just so that I can do my homework, study, etc. What can I do, I haven’t been able to stop for more than three days? Oh and coffee helps, but it gives me severe anxiety if I drink too much (since that too is a symptom of withdrawal and is exacerbated when I drink coffee). Any suggestions?

I was thinking of quiting during the reading week in February, will 7 days be enough? Again, any remedies for energy depletion?

My Brother Is Addicted to Weed?

Question by Killer: my brother is addicted to weed?
I’ve been smoking weed every day for 2 years now, and I’m not addicted. but brother started last week and now he’s addicted! what should I do?

Best answer:

Answer by The Big E
If you have smoked weed every day for the last two years, you too are addicted whether you admit it to yourself and others or not. Insofar as your review of your brother’s weed smoking habit, that is especially not for you to be judging in light of the example you set for him. The blind are enviably not in a credible position to adequately lead the blind as both suffer the same impaired judgment before the process even begins. The greatest lies that hurt us most are the ones we tell ourselves.
