What Did People in Mental Institutions Do?
Question by Boom.: What did people in mental institutions do?
Hm yeah I know probably an odd question but I was just curious as to what the patients in the old asylums actually did while in there?
I mean looking at some videos they were obviously huge, so were patients just allowed to roam free and do whatever they like? Or were there certain places they couldn’t go or do? Did they do any activities or is it true that they were abused and locked up?
Answers appreciated, thankyou!

Question by Brianna H: What exactly is a bariatric clinic?
I called and made an appointment and I know someone who has lost a good bit of weight but what exactly do they do? What kind of pills are they? How are these pills different from GNC and stuff? Some tips and advice would be great.
I didn’t mean to ask four times in a row. My computer froze everytime I pressed ask. You don’t have to be a bitch Kathleen. AND IT ISN”T JUST SURGERY. Don’t answer questions if you don’t know. Smart ass bitch.

You only need to ask this once, not four times in a row. You’ll find your other duplicate questions deleted because I reported them.
Bariatric clinics do not give you pills. It is surgery.

Definitely a book for sufferers and their loved ones, it also has some of the comprehensiveness normally found only in technical works. Good overview of origins, treatments, and relationship to post-traumatic stress disorder and borderline personality disorder. Written in an informal, accessible style. Avoids lurid, melodramatic, and typically misleading Sybil-like tales. Not that these tales are untrue, but they are extreme and unrepresentative cases.
The focus is mostly on female victims of dissociation, as they are much more likely than males to seek treatment. However, there is little in the book that doesn’t apply to male victims as well.
Compare to Steinberg’s Stranger in the Mirror, which is more intense and dramatic but not as good as an overview. For clinicians, a good introduction, before moving on to the clinical books by Colin Ross and James Chu.

Marijuana Withdrawals?
Question by Lax: Marijuana withdrawals?
I’ve smoked daily for about 6 months straight now and I’m trying to stop smoking for at least a week to get a better tolerance since mine is getting pretty high. I also wanted to save some money and smoke less considering I go through about a quarter a week…
So yesterday was my first day in 6 months where I didn’t smoke. I felt fine all day until it was time to go to bed. I had a long day at work and I was tired but when I tried to go to sleep I couldn’t. I was thinking for hours last night about just buying an eighth today, I said at least one week though and I’m not going to break that.
My question is: are there marijuana withdrawals? I couldn’t fall asleep until 4 in the morning and was so tired I couldn’t go to school today.
