Still Addicted…?
Question by so_fresh: Still addicted…?
I’ve tried over and over so many times to quit using narcotic pain killers, but I can’t last more than 3 days. How are people supposed to get clean when they can’t afford help? I know I’m addicted, I know I need help, but I simply don’t have the money for any kind of treatment. I know I could go to NA but I think it would just give me more access to drugs- we all know who hangs around those meetings, right? Anyway now I’m looking on here to see if anyone has advice or ideas on how I can quit… I feel like there’s no way out, like I know where I need to go, but don’t have any idea how to get there.

Go on the Internet and look up codine addiction- search around for the list of drugs that can help you not have to suffer with drawl. They are out there. Go to your doctor and he should give those to you to do what’s best for your body!
Get into a methadone maintenance program. Then bring yourself down slowly on the dose until you don’t need it anymore. If you ae in Ca. MediCal pays, otherwise it’s $ 280 per month
me to what kind of pain killers?
Do the methadone maintenance program. They monitor you and directly control your dosage.
But don’t stay on it forever like would allow you to do. Methadone ‘dope sick’ is bad, real bad.
And yes smoking pot does really help. Often better than the pain meds. I’m just lucky I live in Ca. where it is legal by Rx
