Open Question: what treatment options do methamphetamine addicts have?

i was hoping someone knew of a drug they can give a people who are addicted to methamphetamine kind of like how heroin addicts have methadone and suboxone to help them get off heroin how ever those only work for opiates is there a drug for amphetamines? please i need to help my ex’s mom get off methamphetamine and i know she is too week mentally to get off meth without some kind of replacement drug and she need out patient because she still needs to be able to care for her daughter my ex girlfriend

i made the mistake of smoking heroin and getting addicted to it but now im have not smoked heroin in almost 2 months but i am taking methadone once a day as a replacement drug (given to me but a doctor at a methadone clinic) so i don’t even want to smoke heroin anymore it has been offered to me since i quit and i had no problem saying no and even sitting in the same room while it was smoked next to me with out me smoking any or even wanting to

Open Question: Why do they use God’s name in N.A. and A.A. meetings for almost every step?

Let me start off by saying, I do believe in God, but I was just wondering why they use God’s name in almost every step for? I am sure not everyone believes in God and for a while in bad times, I don’t think I did.

I will tell you guys my story since I had to ask this question.. When I was 17, I was in a really bad car wreck and they prescribed me Oxy’s(for two years), hydrocodeine, and gave me morphine. Well, after a few months, I realized how much I loved pain pills and started buying them and got addicted fast. I was on pills for 1 1/2 and doing anywhere from $ 200-800 a day in just pain pills. Well, after a while, I realized I was sick and needed help and told my parents and we found the methadone clinic. I had no clue what it was, but I gave it a try. I didn’t know how addictive it was. After 11 years(I am 29 now) and spent over $ 60k going over there, I realized it was time to get off of it. I was also having money problems because my two kids come before anything and after 11 years, it was time to get off of it. I was stupid and quit cold turkey at 105 milligrams. I passed all of my drug tests there, but two(that was the first two months) and passed them for eleven years straight. I was off of methadone for 1 1/2 months and I couldn’t take it anymore. I had hot/cold sweats, no energy at all(it took me five mins to pull myself out of the bathtub, so I got on suboxone. Suboxone makes you feel normal as you can and that’s all. I know a few people who was on it and they told me it is so much easier to get off of than methadone. I know I made a lot of mistakes in life, but I can’t wait to get off of suboxone and finally be normal. I haven’t taken a pain pill in over eleven years and I think I will be there soon. :)
