Open Question: If Jesus Came Back Today, How Would the Whole Scenario Play Out?
Open Question: If Jesus came back today, how would the whole scenario play out?
Imagine that Jesus, the Son of God, decides to incarnate again via Immaculate Conception. After he turns thirty again, he decides to run on down to the megachurch and get his ministry started. On the way, he passes by an abortion clinic where a girl had been turned away due to parental consent laws. Jesus heals the girl of her fetus and tells her to use protection the next time around. She of course decides to follow him and they go on toward the megachurch.
Still running down the street, they see a drug addict in a gutter. Jesus turns his heroine into methadone and tell hims to join the party. Then the three of them spot a gay bar. The girl asks Jesus about homosexuality, so Jesus decides to go in there and see what they’re up to. He doesn’t seem too bothered the activities there, saying, “At least they’re not hypocrites like the Pharisees were.” and many decide to join him since you only meet messiahs once every decade or so.
So Jesus and followers finally reach the megachurch, and he sees that they’ve got restaurants, movie theaters, moneychangers, and GOP party pamphlets. Then he hears them admonishing pregnant teenagers, drug addicts, and homosexuals. Would Jesus A) Join their legalistic activities and demand his followers repent. B) Fashion a whip with stones on the end and call down then thousand @$ $ -kickings?
That’s my scenario of choice. What do you think would happen, assuming it happened in a manner similar to the first time around?
Open Question: Any other way to get methadone legally besides a clinic ?!?!?
Hi. My boyfriend is a heroin addict. He snorts quite a lot of it everyday. He would really like to go on methadone,he thinks its the only thing that will work. Dont tell me how addictive it is please and dont judge. I have called around and was told he has to fail at other programs before he could be accepted into that one. I guess I understand where they are coming from to an extent but at the same time I feel its unfair. He should be able to give it a try. He has tried suboxone and has went to meetings . He has tried cold turkey. He has tried therapy. Nothing has worked so why do they need legal proof he will fail a detox?! Help please. Id like to get him help legally and inexpensively.
Voting Question: How can a Urine Test @ a Doctor’s office show a drug that I’ve never taken?
BACKGROUND:
I was involved in a serious accident about 10 years ago, & have been in a significant amt of pain ever since. Besides exercise, I’ve been on various medication. After trying different medications & being on Percocets for a few yrs, a doctor persuaded me to try Methadone (I didn’t like the stigma that went with it, but, figured OK, let’s try it). It worked WONDERS! I didn’t get the “Drugged” or “High” feeling like the others I’d tried. This one got me out of pain and I could take a day off, here & there. I was super happy! Fast forward, I started seeing a new doctor, who continued the meds, but pushed me to go to a Pain Clinic, saying it wasn’t her specialty. Understood. No Problem.
PAIN CLINIC DOCTOR:
During my 1st visit with this Doc, I felt comfortable. After 10 years of this, I’ve developed a complex, I don’t like feeling like I’m being judged/looked at funny or like a drug-seeker. HE DIDN’T! He put me 100% at ease, and I was 100% honest with him! Also during the 1st visit, he asked me to do a Urine Test. No Problem – or so I thought! I was told by a nurse, as we waited for the bathroom to be free, that I had to fill it to a certain line. I didn’t have to go, but I was going to try. She handed me the cup, and the tape that seals it, was broken, like the cup had been opened prior to her giving it to me. IDK when it was opened, & I guess I assumed she opened it, because I didn’t say anything. I managed to pee a little bit, and added some (seemingly clean) toilet water – just a little bit & just to make it to that line. When I returned to go over the test, I was told that I had FENTANYL in my system. WTF?! I asked him what that was, and he answered me by asking if I ever tried any pain patches or anything like that. NO. I have NEVER used/tried any patches or anything with Fentanyl. How could that be in there? Could it have been left in the water from the person before me in the bathroom? I, honestly, have NO IDEA where that came from! Now the doctor is looking at me like I’m lying or some kind of drug-seeker or bad person. He won’t continue my medication. It was my 1st visit with this doctor – WHY WOULD I JEOPARDIZE THAT?! The nurse gave me the cup, but the seal was broken. IDK what that means, if anything, but.. IDK what to do! The medication is now wearing off & I’m in so much pain. I FINALLY found something that works, and HAS worked for 2+ years. Now, b/c of some FALSE, F’D UP test, I’m being cut off & looked at in a bad light. I’m a good person from a good background & I’m honest to a fault. I HATE being looked at as though I’m lying or trying to do something underhanded or whatever… Ugh. I’m sorry to be so long-winded, just needed to explain the whole situation, which includes the backstory. PLEASE HELP/ADVISE!!! I’m going back for a follow up & injections in 2 weeks. I would greatly appreciate ANY & ALL thoughts, opinions, words of advice.. I just don’t know what to do.
Thank you, for ANY & ALL of your advice, etc! It’s greatly appreciated!
Resolved Question: Poll: Random thought(s), use of drugs to stop drug abuse?
Random thought(s) and opinions of the day.
I frequently doubt the efficacy of using drugs to stop drug and alcohol abuse. For example: Alcoholics = Benzodiazepines such as Xanax, Valium, Klonopin. This class of drug works on the neurotransmitter GABA, the same as alcohol. Narcotic abuse (Opiates) = Synthetic Opiates such as Methadone and Suboxone. This class of drugs works identical to heroin and Oxycodone by binding to your brains opioid receptor sites and as a side effect produces euphoria and comfort. Meth abusers = Amphetamine based salts like Adderall, Dexerdrene, Ritalin, and Vyvanse. Like meth, these drug works on producing increased amounts of dopamine which is the reward pathway neurotransmitter.
I guess in a nutshell we are trading one addiction for the other, and hoping the other has less negative impact, but the user still isn’t treated. In fact in Methadone clinics they start you at a low dose and work you up, not down. Why is that?
In my opinion, methadone clinics are not about stopping addiction and saving lives as much as it is about saving money. When addicts get the drug free, they don’t have to rob, steal, and share needles all things that cost John Q Taxpayer but is that really the right thing to do?
One more random thought/fact: The justice system and DEA are so concerned about drug abuse on the rise yet we don’t make liquor illegal. Alcohol accounts for more deaths, and expense burdens then every other illegal drug combined…
I do want to add that all the drugs that are used to help you stop using are controlled drugs, they are all level 2 (highest level) with the exception of benzos being a level 4
