Question by Emily: Is it possible to be addicted to someone?
I’ve been told in the past that I have an addictive personality (I’ve been through self harm and solvent abuse before) but I’m getting increasingly worried over my obsession/addiction over someone that I love. I can’t go a day without seeing them or I get serious “withdrawal symptoms”. I can’t concentrate on anything, I become increasingly irritated and I get very teary and emotional. When I see them, I’m just in total awe and in a state of euphoria until it comes the time when I have to leave again. I’M NOT A STALKER. I can control myself that way but I just can’t seem to get enough of this person. I get the urge to touch their skin, talk to them, tell them how I feel. I can’t detach myself and then I go from being on a high after seeing them to going into a really bad “low” afterwards. They consume my thoughts 24/7 including my dreams. Does this come under having an addictive personality, or something else? Thankyou. x

Question by zxcvb927: anyone know the best way to get off suboxone, without having to experience withdrawals, and or anxiety?
i have been taking this med for several months and have weened down to about 2 mg.’s a day but find myself mentally obssessing over “having” to take it everyday. I constantly tell myself that i don’t need it but, no matter how much i do this i find that i feel depressed, anxiety, and basically “mentally” causing withdrawal symptoms…any pointers, or recommendations would be very much appreciated.

It’s an addictive med. Follow your doctor’s orders for weaning yourself off of it. Do it correctly or you may end up replacing your Suboxone addiction with something far worse in the end.

Question by Cayla: Question about Mimi from the movie RENT?
Ok, so I know she was a heroin addict…but I’m still a little confused. The stage version makes everything a little more understanding but I still have questions. Like during “Without You” they show various scenes like where Mimi is getting drugs from The Man behind the back alley and Roger finds her and we don’t know what they are saying however. Which kind of makes me upset. And another scene during the song it shows Mimi shivering and sweating(a cold sweat?) over a bathtub and then it shows Roger carrying her back into his apartment and them talking again, which we cant hear. -_- But my question about that scene is if Mimi’s cold sweat(?) is due to drug with drawl or the drugs itself. I’ve been looking for these answers for a couple days without any luck. Could someone please further educate me on Mimi’s character in the movie RENT and perhaps tell me about Roger’s withdrawal from drugs(like did he just stay in his room the whole time and didn’t speak to anyone?) and HIV/Aids? I know it has been a long time since this movie came out but I’m absolutely in love with it and cannot get these questions out of my head. I’m from a very different generation that the characters within this movie. Thanks in advance!
