Opiates are one of the most powerfully addictive substances known to man and the terminology typically describes those narcotic opioid alkaloids derived from the opium poppy and its natural components. The three most common opiates that individuals become addicted to are Heroin, Morphine, and opium. Other biological or synthetic opiates include codeine, hydrocodone, oxycodone, papaverine, and thebaine. Regardless of the addiction, it has created a huge need for Opiate Rehab programs.

The traditional Opiate Rehab centers today typically have clients with a combination of some educational approach and the 12-Step program. Unfortunately, these conventional treatment and recovery methods do nothing to address the emotional and mental aspects of As a result, these traditional rehab facilities witness only a 20% success rate at best. The reasons behind the individual’s addiction and their addictive behavior are not addressed, so once they leave the treatment center, they typically fall back into their old behavioral patterns and usually relapse again.

Whether you agree or disagree alcoholism was first recognised as a disease as early as 1785, by Dr. Benjamin Rush, signer of the Declaration of Independence and physician of George Washington’s Army.

In his widely dispersed essay on “the effects of ardent spirits,” Rush clearly called intemperance a disease and, an addiction.

Seeing addiction as a chronic disease may be a hotly debated topic, however if it makes addiction treatment more easily accessible and helps the addict to structure their life around the problem, surely it makes sense to regard addiction as analogous to a chronic disorder?

When an individual stops taking opiate drugs such as heroin or oxycontin they may experience opiate withdrawal symptoms if they have been using opiates heavily for extended periods of time. Opiates include codeine, methadone, heroin, oxycontin, dilaudid and morphine, to mention a few. It is estimated that 9% of the population abuses opiates, which include legally prescribed medications and illegal drugs. These types of drugs can cause an opiate addiction where the person becomes dependent upon them. As time goes by, with continued use of the drug, the individual usually requires larger amounts of the drug to provide the same effect.

When an individual has an opiate addiction and stops taking the opiate they normally will experience withdrawal symptoms. Opiate withdrawal can also occur when an individual reduces the amount of opiates they have been taking. People can experience withdrawal during a hospital stay after receiving opiate drugs for pain. They may experience flu-like symptoms, unaware that it is actually opiate withdrawal.

I think i have a Jogging..”Addiction”! problem, because i run like an animal! every other day.And because i love-it so much,i tend to fall in love!.. with (any girl), who i find- out loves..to run as well.I imediately find myself, falling in love with girls and worshipping them if i see them running.I also give heavy girls lots of respect and admiration when i see them (jogging)or trying to.Bottom line.. I LOVE JOGGERS!!!!!!…(p.s)does anyone think like i do, about exercise? if so…send me an email so we can get that, “runners-HIGH!” together!..

Opium has been with us for a very long time. In fact, it’s been with the human race since 3400 B.C in Mesopotamia. It’s modern from; heroin was synthesized in the late 19th century by Alder Wright, an English chemist. He experimented on rabbits and discovered that it caused ‘great prostration, fear and sleepiness’. Since then, it had been re-synthesized, sold as a commercial drug and used as an excuse in the Opium Wars in China.

In modern times, heroin is an illegal substance and is mostly produced in the Afghanistan/Pakistan region. A U.N survey in 1999 discovered 350 square miles of the country is used for poppy cultivation. The Golden Triangle, a region which straddles along the borders of Thailand, Vietnam and Laos, comes to a close second.

I know i’m going to sound crazy, but I have listened to The Massacre many times, and honestly, it reminds me of Ready to Die. The storytelling on most of the songs about selling drugs, toting guns, killing people, sleeping with women, and having your life on the life is only one of many similarities to RTD. Also, the production on The Massacre is very underrated, and it makes me mad. The production, just like RTD, is a blend of dark gritty beats and club beats that makes the albums versatile. I think The Massacre is 50 cent’s best album, and people will see in a decade or more, that it is better than GRODT. 50 cent proved his genius on #11 of the album “A baltimore love thing” when he talked about seeing the life of a drug addict through the eyes of the one who was with her all the time, which was the actual drug she was using “heroin”. 50 cent and Biggie in their prime both had similar storytelling attributes, and for that reason, I believe that if The Massacre was biggie’s CD instead of 50’s, people would have declared it his 3rd classic, and i assure you it would have a 5 mic rating.
