Drug treatment program is a relatively new field. It only started sometime within the last 50 years. It must be understood that many of the areas of studies in drug treatment are yet to be perfected. However, there are institutions that are gaining much progress at fast rates.

But the reason for this rise is basically attributed to the dramatic rise of the addicted sections of the society. Add to this the presence of the funding institutions that may provide for the payments incurred during treatment. Most of these are private health insurance companies, which made the inclusion for such causes in most of their health insurance plans.

Prior to the development of the drug treatment centers, drug patients are only treated through psychotherapy. But there were already established drug treatment centers even before the existence of a science that would provide sound clinical technologies. This technology is devised precisely to handle drug addiction on a progressive, gradual way. These early attempts had created the bad reputation drug treatment centers held for quite a time.

Due to the withdrawal symptoms experienced by individuals with a heroin addiction, treatment is almost impossible and can even be fatal without the help of experts. For many people who have become dependent on heroin, it usually starts with recreational use. However, prolonged use of the drug allows the dependency to take control of the body, until the user is unable to simply stop the habit.

It is a common tendency among heroin users to gradually increase their dosage to obtain the same effects they experienced from the early phases of addiction, exposing them to even greater risks. In women, the long-term use of the drug may result in menstrual problems and infertility. A lot of users from both sexes also contract diseases such as Hepatitis C and HIV, due to sharing of needles.

The interview was from the Dr. Phil Show. Dr. Phil said he was going to send him to the Mayo Clinic.

Question by YOU.LOSE.2012: When is the DEA going to ban alcohol and cigarettes since they have no ” accepted medical use”?
Basically a group asked the U.S. federal government to reschedule marijuana (not even legalize or decriminalize). Currently marijuana is in the same category as heroin (obviously absurd) and is considered a schedule 1 narcotic (aka worst of the worst according to the government).

Not only did the government take NINE YEARS to issue an opinion, but it was the same weak @ss argument they always give: Marijuana has potential for abuse and no accepted medical uses.

So if the government is going to be retarded about this, let’s at least be consistent.

When do alcohol and cigarettes become illegal since both have “a high potential for abuse” and “no accepted medical use in the United States, and lacks an acceptable level of safety for use even under medical supervision.”??
