Question by ?: I took sedative hypnotics and propranolol yesterday and i didn’t sleep, why?
I took motival a short acting benzodiadepine and a beta blocker and waited for more than an hour to sleep , but i didn’t feel sleepy anyway!
Why ?
P.S: I am not a sleeping pill addict and i intake them with a prescription!

My Mom has be on massive doses of pain meds- for post op treatment from various surgeries for 25 or more years. Hip replacements, knee replacements shoulder replacements back surgery, gastrointestinal surgery. No vital organ surgery. And her most significant problem is mild diabetes. And of course tolerance to pain meds. And now she has developed a “tremor” (non-neuro) they are treating with valium along with the pain meds. Is there any “detox” options???

Well…from personal experience, have them wean her off them slowly. My dr took me off with no ramp down and he about killed me. It threw me into a terrible depression, vile withdrawals and headaches that would have made death seem like a vacation.

Question by satankitty: How much can drugs harm a baby during the first month of pregnancy?
I found out I was pregnant 2 days ago. In the past few weeks I have taken 1 (possibly 2) ecxtasy pills, drank beer, smoked ciggarettes on a daily basis, and smoked one joint of marijuana. I’m thinking of keeping the baby, so I’m not going to do those things anymore. I’m just wondering if anyone can tell me the chances of the baby comming out deformed or retarted? Thank you.

Think about it this way, That first month is when the blue prints for your baby are being drawn up in a way. Everything that your baby will be is already mapped out in the first month or so. Good Luck.
