Question by lbckirko: Can i form an addiction to Opiates in general?
I havnt been on one certain kind of opiate for a long period of time (1.5-2 weeks at max) but ive switched around from hydro codone to oxycodone to morphine to hydromorphone…

(I broke both bones in my leg pretty bad and had to get surgery, all are under prescriptions, not abusing, taking as needed but afraid i can develop addiction as is)

Yes you can. Your doctors are very aware of that and are monitoring your intake. That don’t want you to be in pain, but they also don’t want you to develop an addiction to your meds. Maybe that is why they keep changing them.

Question by flagguttie: Chronic Pain?
I have Chronic Pain going on 11 years. I have been on many pain medications over the years, had several pain doctors perform several injections in several places to try and freeze or kill the nerves. I have recently had a neuro stimulator installed and it seems to have some relief and I am still on medication. I would like to get off the medication and I know the withdrawls will be hell. What’s the best way to handle these symptons and avoid having major issues while coming off?
I am on MS-Contin 15mg – 2 per day, and Loratab 10/500 – 4 per day

theres many natural pain medications, i suggest slowly going off, just decrease your meds every couple days, soon when you get to 1 pill start cutting it in half and ect ect.

I have been smoking hooka every day twice a day for almost two months, I used to be a cigarrete smokers for 4 years but than I quited and I was of it for 4 months before I started smoking hooka, I didnt think it would do anything, but I havent smoked for the entire day and im really fining for it, im having hot flashes and it feels like im trying to quit cigarretes, what should I do?? most people use hooka as a social way to smoke with other people… if you have been smoking that much hooka, then chances are that you are addicted to hooka… there is more nicotine in hooka than there is in regular cigarettes, i read that it is something like smoking a hooka for half an hour is like smoking a pack of cigarettes. and if you are worried that you are addicted, then just don’t smoke it as much, i smoke it with friends about once a month maybe two times a month.

In many alternative “treatments” of ailments, it seems like the biggest factor in making people feel better relies on giving the individual a lot of personal attention.
Even in ASMR communities and videos, person attention is the one thing that is a constant theme.
Why does having such personal attention make us feel good? Like, haircuts, massages, makeup sessions?
