For about 5 yrs, i suffered with awful migraines, Dr’s tried me on every migraine med, and none really helped. In July 2012, i started seeing a PM doc who did an MRI/CAT scan and discovered that my headaches were really being caused my neck and diagnosed me w/cervical spondylosis. I knew that something was terribly wrong when i was in worse and worse pain, my hands and fingers began to go numb & my neck cracked and locked up approx 6 times a day.
My PM doc is highly regarded and i like him and his demeanor, he first put me on pain meds- roxicodone and to my surprise-methadone pills! I only knew of methadone for heroin addicts, but it’s been a great pain med for me & the roxicodone is short-acting for breakthrough pain. I work at a desk w/ 2 computer screens all day doing intense legal work and i was in total AGONY!
Anyways, since July 2012, i’ve been getting 7-8 cortisone shots in my neck monthly.
However, i had noticed the last few months that my hair is getting ALOT thinner..i was told it could be a side effect of the cortisone shots, so i bought Nioxin shampoo, conditioner and scalp treatment. I’ve only used it a week, so no difference yet..
BUT my BIG upsetting issue happened yesterday, while I brushing my hair, i noticed a bald spot about 2 in. back in the middle of my head! it’s about the size of a silver dollar! i’m not at all dramatic & I don’t mean 2 sound vain, but i was upset and tossed and turned in bed most of the night., i’m only 41 and have long medium brown hair, so i have to clip a barrette over the bald spot for now 2 cover it. I just pray it grows back!
Sorry 2 ramble, but i had to give some background info here..
My question is does anyone who has this condition or is familiar with the condition think that getting approx 28-30 cortisone injections in my neck in the last 4 months is way too much? I’ve read that ppl get maybe 2 every other month!
My symptoms and pain are greatly reduced, but im thinking that the protocol for that many injections is too much..I’m in a tough spot, bc either im suffering in pain and i wont be able to continue to work-which is the last thing i want :( OR i’m thinking it’d be a good idea to tell my dr to see me once a month for like 2 injections where my issue is the worst and perhaps to increase, add or change the medicines i’m taking.

I have been using methadone to beat my previous addiction on opiates but Iam not 100 percent positive that every thing I am suffering from is because of the methadone ? I have joint back pain by the way .back to methadone I dropped from taking 100 grams to 35 now and non of the symptoms that I had have changed I am always exhausted if I do not get enough sleep I am usless and cranky , i get the worst hot lashes like the blood in my head is boiling , if I sit down in school or church or behind the wheel it becomes impossible to fight falling asleep , I sweet like a pig and many more side effects does any one know why or went thru the same thing please let me know what I can do about it .
Resolved Question: I would like to know have any methadone users feel what i feel , i Am physically so weak getting out od bed ?

Is it the methadone that is keeping me agitated , extreme sweet , I get so sleepy that I can not keep my eyes open , constipated that I know and I can deal with it but my main problem is getting up in the morning I was never like this before I never had a problem waking up but know I use 40 mg a day and it is given to me by my doctor to suppossely help me with my past addiction with opiates , you name the drug I took heavily but never suffered that many side effects as methadone , I am scared of driving sometimes because when my eyes start to close that means I can not stay up and have to rest , now I am suffering from joInt back pain and neck too I was diagnosed for osteoarthritis and it is painful , my question is it the methadone or my osteoarthritis that is causing me to go thru this kind of suffering another thing I get some kind of head rushes like hot flashes they’re so awful do you drive me angry , I move for examplenwash my car I sweat so much that in 20 minutes I am so wet that I have to change my clothes .
And I can mention more things that making my life very miserable so I’m asking you out there ,is anybody suffering the same and do you have any advice please answer me and let me know why do I feel so worthless exhausted extreme sweat very vision cannot get out of my bed constipated and still have back pain thank you for a reading my question in my story I appreciate answers any input .
