Open Question: Question about Methadone Clinics.?
I am an opiate addict, and have been for many years now. I have had enough and want my life back!! I am sick and tired of going through what I go through every day. The last time I took a pill was3 days ago, and as you can imagine, after three long years of using meds (which in the beginning started off for pain then turned addiction) I am going through HORRIBLE withdrawal!! I feel as though I am going to die…(which apparently is normal) I am doing everything in my power not to go back and start taking pills just to feel better, even though I know this would be the “easy way out”….I am DONE!!! Question being, has anyone ever heard of methadone treatment for opiate withdrawal? And does it work? Since I quit pills three days ago, would they still take me in? I am feeling SO bad…..and I don’t think I can quit forever on my own. I have quit A LOT of things in my past by myself, but my addictive personality always leads me somewhere. And I feel I really need the help for this one. Any info would be greatly appreciated!!! Please no bashing. Addicts go through enough without people being sarcastic and judgmental. Thank you so much.
