I think the obvious answer (yep, not drinking anything alcoholic) is the best. Have an interesting mixed drink, sure, but one with no alcohol in it. Get yourself invited to parties as the designated driver. Your friends will appreciate that.

sounds wierd but eat more before you drink. the extra food will help your body better handle the alcohol

    Hello Omar,

In a sense you are fortunate, since your body is seeking to protect you.

Consider if you are taking any prescription drugs that may be incompatible with alcohol.

If you feel embarrassed about not drinking alcohol then consider telling your friends you have to take a break from it and let them draw any conclusions from that, or choose friends that like going out for a coffee and a lucid, rather than a non-lucid chat.

    I hope this helps.

    Regards,

    Robert.

Obviously your body is telling you not to drink at all. Alcohol is a poison afterall and if it is causing you to throw up with even a little bit for heaven’s sake don’t drink. Be the designated driver. That is what i have always done all my life.

I think you should check with a doctor, because this may be a sign of an underlying and more serious problem.

Aside from the obvious answer you yourself came up with, if you’re vomiting after drinking small amounts of alcohol, you may be allergic to something. If you’re drinking beer, you may be allergic to hops. If you’re drinking anything made with barley or wheat (beer, malt beverages) you may be gluten sensitive.

You may simply have an intolerance to alcohol, which can cause these symptoms (the second link below has a complete list).

From the first link below: “Alcohol intolerance can cause immediate, unpleasant reactions after you consume alcohol…. Alcohol intolerance is caused by a genetic condition in which the body is unable to break down alcohol. The only way to prevent alcohol intolerance is to avoid alcohol altogether.

In some cases, what may seem to be alcohol intolerance is caused by a reaction to something else in an alcoholic beverage — such as chemicals, grains or preservatives. In other cases, reactions are caused by combining alcohol with certain medications. In rare instances, reactions to alcohol can be a sign of a serious underlying health problem that requires diagnosis and treatment.”

Sounds to me like you’re better off not drinking alcohol. I don’t know your age,
but doubt that you are old, mature or even responsible enough to be indulging.

Eat a whole buffet of food.
Seriously, I went out last night and all I had eaten all day was a bowl of Mac & Cheese. I drank heaps and can you guess what happened? Yep, I vomited and I never do.

So I would just eat, eat and eat. Your stomach will absorb the booze better if its full I guess.
