Will I be able to receive unemployment in the state of California or Texas? And with the honorable discharge how does it affect job/careers in my future?

Unemployment compensation is a State entitlement, and each state has a website which will tell you the requirements!

no you will not ! chapter 9 falls in the category of willful misconduct ( drugs alcohol) thus the state will look at this as “fired” with reason making you not eligible for UC benefits

I was medically retired (CA is HOR) and they said I was denied unemployment because I knew I was getting out of the service, therefore had time to search for a job (they don’t know jack shit about the military)
So it doesn’t hurt to try
