Does Suboxone Have Anything to Do With Missing a Period?

Question by VersatilePessimist: Does suboxone have anything to do with missing a period?
Sometimes I take a tiny bit to feel good…but I haven’t gotten my period..I’m 5 days late..could that be the cause?

No offense, but every time someone abuses suboxone they make it a little bit harder to obtain for the people who actually need it. Don’t allow yourself to become physically addicted to it because the withdrawals last 12 very long days where you will be in absolute agony. look up “opiate withdrawal symptoms” if you want to see what that would be like. I promise you don’t want that, right around the 6th day when you think it’s about to get better it starts to get worse and worse.

however, missed periods are not uncommon in people who use drugs but if you’re not a chronic user i would take a pregnancy test just to be sure. I haven’t heard of this side effect from any of the people i know who take suboxone at maintenance doses but that doesn’t mean it hasn’t happened. I have, however, heard about it happening in people who have a physical dependence to heroin so it’s not too odd.
