What Are Your Thoughts on Carlito’s Release?

Question by The Amazing Adam: What are your thoughts on Carlito’s release?
I feel really sorry for the guy, I could of swore he was gonna be a future champion someday in the WWE. The WWE ruins people’s dreams, for instance they actually released someone as athletic as Shelton Benjamin and someone as cool as Carlito? They both was very entertaining indeed then the WWE just throws them out without a proper good-bye? Whos next? John Morrison? Anyway just give me your thoughts and opinions on this incident…

BQ: Shelton Benjamin or Carlito?

BQ2: Carlito and Primo vs. Ted DiBiase and Brett DiBiase??

It is ridiculous! And more great talent wasted by WWE.
BQ: Benjamin is a better wrestler, though Carlito can shoot some killer promos and skits.
BQ2: Ted and Brett… Just because the Colon’s have been jobbers most of their careers and ted and brett seem to be getting a push.

“WWE Superstar Carlito (Carlos Colon) has been released from his World Wrestling Entertainment contract as of today May 21, 2010. Carlito’s termination was due to his first violation of the WWE Wellness Program and his subsequent refusal to attend a rehabilitation facility.”

So this means he broke the rules and so when you break the rules you do get fired.Look at Masters he was let go and wasn’t broguht for like a year or so.they have to take this serious as it will lead to the guys either stop taking drugs or they will continue and we know the end result of that will be.They have to have a strict policy so something like what happened to Benoit or Eddie becomes less and that sends a good message to the children that watch.
as in life if you go to a job and fail a drug test you usually lose your job. Then you start losing money and can’t keep the bills paid and then everything goes downhill.

  • I Am 1337™ {Amie}:

I don’t feel sorry for him at all. It was apparently due to breaking the wellness policy that WWE put in place to protect it’s superstars. Carlito broke that so deserves the release. I thought Carlito was decent, he wasn’t amazing, and he was never going to be a world champion. His character base was meh, okay, nothing amazing. He gave us some good matches, good title reigns, and good/funny moments. I still like the guy, but have no sympathy for him.

And WWE doesn’t ruin people’s dreams. Where did you get that crazy idea from? Carlito got released cause he broke their wellness policy. If he stuck to the rules then he’d still be hired. But he chose to break them so he’s gone. Carlito demolished his own dreams.

And with Shelton; he was given many chances back in 04 and 05. His gimmick was such a failure and he messed up those chances with that gimmick. He got clean wins over big names, but he had no fan connection. Athleticism doesn’t make you a good wrestler either. Shelton was mediocre in ring and even that’s being generous. He is for sure the most athletic guy WWE ever saw, but he isn’t their best wrestler or even close. Don’t confused wrestling ability with athleticism, because both are soo different.

Shelton was entertaining to me in ring in certain matches like ladder matches. Shelton is watchable, but being good in ladder matches and being terrible in normal matches won’t keep you hired.

And WWE isn’t throwing them out. Shelton Benjamin isn’t a legend, he didn’t even do much in WWE. Why should he get a send off or an emotional goodbye? He will just move on, no one cares that Shelton is gone. I’m not a hater, cuz I liked him. But I don’t care. It’s better for him gone. Why stay signed to a company that will never use you? WWE did Shelton a favour, they released the guy. And Carlito deserves to be thrown out, if you break the rules you’re gone, goodbye, ciao, au revoir.

    BQ: Carlito

    BQ2: ?? What’s the question? Who would win? DiBiase’s.

  • Jamaican Man™ (My Only Backup):

According to the link that “It’s time to go air bourne” showed. He deserved it I guess. It’s not like he was great enough in the ring or commanded the crowd in a way where WWE would be nervous about releasing him. So if he is going to break the rules, he can go. He was a big disappointment from what I thought he was going to be when I first saw him. On his first day he won the US title, but ever since his push ended, he didn’t impress enough to get another one.

    BQ: Shelton.
    BQ2: DiBiase’s
