my husband is going trough 100mg MSContin 3 times a day withdrawals, of course he is having a hard time of it, he does not want Narcos to wean off he just went “Cold Turkey” he is in day two and is still pretty bad, is there anything I can do to help him? he is drinking alittle Gatorade but has not tried to eat yet, how long will he have to go through this? I went to Medhelp website and they do a lot of talking about “tapering” or “substituting” he has tried that and it doesn’t work he says, I guess I am alittle scared, I can only be with him til Friday morning cause I have to return to work and don’t have any leave time left.

yeah he is really just getting started, subutex/suboxone (buprenorphine) have been miracle drugs, as far as i’m concerned, but getting them can sometimes require considerable amounts of hoop-jumping.
it can only be prescribed by a doctor who has taken a special course in dispensing it. it doesn’t get you high (though of course some people try), but it will put the withdrawals in their place. google “suboxone doctors” to find possible providers in your area. some are more concerned with money, than anything, it seems.

buprenorphine is much more easily managed than that **** methadone.
