Not all medications “work” psychologically. There are actually biochemical reasons for why most medications do what they do. Marijuana works by release dopamine (which is a pain killer). Marijuana happens to act in the brain. That said, there are numerous legal ways of doing this, that are more effective and “safe”.
A lot of drugs don’t work in the brain nor have an affect on the brain.
Due to the placebo affect, what you think can in fact influence how effective certain drugs are. Sometimes taking a drug is no more effective than taking a sugar pill and it really is just a psychological effect. This is called the placebo effect. You think this is making you feel better so you feel better.
As for tylenol, it does not work in the brain. It stops production of certain “prostaglandins”. I don’t want to get too much into this, so you can look at these links under sources for more information.
Note that paracetamol is tylenol.
