My sister is 19 years old, she is addicted to pain medication and has already been arrest for carrying zanex and methadone that were not hers, she smokes about 15-25 blunts of the synthetic smoke “diamond” every day. she accused two different men of raping her (one of the men being her father the other being her boyfriend of about 3 years – both later proven innocent), she is VERY codependent. when she was 10 years old she pretended she couldn’t feel her legs and spent 10 days in a hospital because our dad said we had to sleep in separate rooms. then when she was 17 she claimed the same thing and spending many more days in the hospital (where she became verbally abusive with the nurses and doctors) and nearly a year on a medical bed. she was so high from all the medication she could barely speak or keep her eyes open, and also gained nearly 100 lbs. only to find out a year later that she only did that to receive the medication. She got arrested on the drug charge about a month ago, but has continued taking all types of drugs, including pills that are not prescribed to her and marijuana. today she had a court date and when i told her i had no gas to take her she became violent and broke my phone. i called the police but was told that they could do nothing for me because of the value of the property that she damaged. she is mentally sick, and needs help, but you can only do so much for a person before you realize that this is a losing battle and a helpless case. is there anything that can be done?
