Living with pain and the struggle to cope without all those drugs! – A good doctor cannot be underestimated. This video was done about 7 years ago . After trying everything: Chiropractor, Lumbar Epidural Injections, and having a few 2nd opinions-( haha! )One of which included the St. Mary’s Spinal Hospital in San Francisco- all agreed with- there is no fix- we can only treat the pain with pills! I finally found Dr. James Reynolds at the Seton Spinal Institute in Daly City, CA. In 2 minutes of reviewing my MRI’s, he stated that the treatments I had received were not addressing where most of my pain was and after doing a simple physical exam and applying some pressure with his fingers, it was obvious that my pain could be “induced” (at least most of my pain) which is a good indicator that I had bad facet joints. He was right! He scheduled me for a Radiofrequency Neurotomy for Facet and Sacroiliac Joint Pain. I will never have my entire life back and sadly, miss playing tennis, fishing along a rocky river bed and I still can’t sit for too long and have limitations due to pain. But at least I can now enjoy a leisurely morning walk with my dogs, smell the flowers,and surely I enjoy my grandchildren. I cannot ride motorcycles anymore because I do still have some issues that have progressed over the years – a recent MRI shows 5 discs leaking- but I am not surprised as this is a hereditary condition.
