Can You Please Help Me With My High Blood Sugar Problem?

Question by and you are?: Can you please help me with my high blood sugar problem?
I am experiencing a loss of (or kind of like a blur and inability to focus my eye-site. ) . I have had a little bit of nausea( I think from drinking much ice tea and water at 5:30 am while at work.) Through up just water 2 or three mornings starting last Wednesday. I am also getting fatigued easily this last week. I work as a Cook and it is not a good time right now for this. I thought these “side effects ” could be from taking a High blood pressure medicine called Licinaperil, because these effects and more were on the prescrption bag. I have been taking lisinoperl for over a month though. I also take a generic for zantec(heartburn) and lexapro. I was told after a blood test from my doctor that my blood sugar was high. This was after two bllod tests two weeks apart. He prescribed me METFORMIN HCL ER 500. That was almost two weeks ago and I did not get it until today. My father and I looked on web md and these were also side effects , and this makes more sense to use. Do you think this will take care of my symptoms. My doctor did not call me back today but I did leave him a note with my problems. I tested my blood sugar with test strips to day and it read like 330. I have always have had great vision. I am a little scared. Thank you

Lisinopril is an anti-hypertensive medication that is virtually devoid of side effects other than a ‘dry’ cough which occurs in about 3% of individuals. Do not be frightened of the warnings issued with medications. They are a legal requirement but they are notoriously inaccurate. Ranitidine (Zantac) has ever fewer potential side effects and indeed I have never heard of a patient experiencing side effects due to ranitidine. If you were prescribed metformin hydrochloride extended release (ER) then you are a type 2 diabetic and this is borne out in your glucose reading. Hyperglycemia may lead to fatigue for a variety of reasons but fundamentally elevated glucose is ‘toxic’ in the broad sense of the term. Elevated glucose also leads to an increase in the number of molecules in the vitreous of the eye which refracts light and blurs vision. These problems should correct when the glucose is ‘normalized’. Escitalopram (Lexapro) is the levo (left) stero-isomer and the active metabolite of citalopram hydrobromide. Escitalopram has no advantage over citalopram and the latter is on the so-called $ 4 lists. I do not approve of prescribing expensive medications when less expensive medications will have the same effect. Escitalopram has the potential for more side effects than any other medication that you are taking. It has been associated with fatigue but it is not clear if this is cause and effect or not as it is most often used for depression. Depressed individuals tend to experience fatigue anyway making the distinction difficult. Escitalopram has not been associated with blurred vision. If I may be of further assistance please let me know. I wish you the very best of health and in all things may God bless.
