Resolved Question: Too Many Meds Prescribed After Overcoming Addiction?

Resolved Question: Too many meds prescribed after overcoming addiction?

I was with a man and started taking opiates young, lead to heroin. Was on a methadone clinic for about 2 more years, then suboxone. My bf died from an overdose. I was in hospitals and I have been on so many medications but I’m finding it doesn’t make a difference. I’m trying to deal with it having no medications. I’m also very withdrawn, I have anxiety, I HATE leaving my room never mind my house. I’ve trusted numerous doctors but it’s always the same run around like a test subject for a year with a medication, and then a new doctor. I am 23 and I was last on 200mg Effexor a day, 150mg Lamictal a day, 200mg trazadone a day, 20 mg adderall xr twice a day, and 4mg of xanax a day. Am I nuts or is this WAY too much medication for me? I just was switched from Effexor to Lexapro and I’m weaning up slowly on the Lexapro and feeling worse with horrible side affects, so I stopped it, but I’m still on everything else. It seems strange after expressing how much I hate being on medications after being an addict that every single doctor seems to prescribe me SO much and SO many. I try working with my doctor but she just recommends keeping with this new med, even though I have confusion, muscle pain, horrible migraines, nausea, no appetite, everything! Anyone else gone through this? Any help? Desperate!

My brother has been a drug addict for 10 plus yrs. In the last yr he started taking methadone and got hooked. Hes girlfriend (another druggie who got him doing methadone) kicked him out, his boss laid him off until he gets help, and now hes living with me. Hes still having withdrawals but says he has only taken one pain pill in a week>>>dont really believe that but what can u do? Should he go to a clinic and get on suboxone or just withdrawing at home? Ive heard methadone just makes things worse..would suboxone? thanks

Voting Question: Tomorrow I’m hanging out with I guy I like, I’m sacred I’ll mess up?

OK, I go to the methadone clinic there I met a guy named Paul. I talked to him everytime I saw him, and kinda liked him. But at the time I had a boyfriend. We’ll now that I am not with Mike (the boyfriend) anymore. I saw him one day and we sat and talked for about a hour. Then he did something do sweet. I’d left ym purse in the cart at the store, a lady went through it, found his number and he drov e way over on the other side of town just to get my stuff.

Now for the problem. I don’t know how to act, What to wear, if I should dress up. I don’t have any idea what we are going to do, but this guy seems awesome. I’d like to be very slow and hopefully (maybe) finally have a boyfriend that treats me right.

Resolved Question: Opiate addicition recovery. Suboxone or methadone?

I’ve been using opiates now for about a year. But until recently, the past 3-4 months I’ve been very very heavily involved in them. It started off with buying some percs, the roxies, and now heroin. What use to be a 50 dollar a week habit, is now as 75-100 a day. And it’s been this way for about 2 months. I have tried multiple times to try and quit but the withdawels are so unbearable. I work 2 jobs and have incredible back pain. I can’t and don’t have a 3-5 days to just withdraw and feel like shit. I am debating on either trying to get a script for suboxone or going to a methadone clinic to try and get off for good. Considering I’ve only been doing opiates heavily for a rather “short” time compared to some people, which is the best option in your opinion. I have insurance and I am willing to try either or. I just don’t want to feel this way any longer and it’s cutting into my personal life. Suggestions?
