Can My Doctor Refuse to Transfer Me to Another Doctors Care That Is Closer to My Home?

Question by doug: Can my doctor refuse to transfer me to another doctors care that is closer to my home?
A new substance abuse clinic just opened up in my town. It is 2 blocks from my house and the one am currently going to is 4 miles away. The doctor that runs the new clinic used to work for the other clinic and his clinic is at their previous location. Since they have moved it is not convenient for me because I don’t have a car. I was told that I would not be allowed to transfer because the doctor “stole patient information and contacted patients to come to his new clinic”. He used to work for the other clinic and when they moved he decided to open up his own clinic. If he used to treat us I don’t see how he could steal patient info since he was our doctor, but the truth is I contacted him. On the wall under patient rights and responsibilities it says “upon acceptance of another treatment program, patients have the right to a smooth transfer”. A lot of other people have been told they could not transfer either. We were told that they have to have a meeting to see how they are going to handle this and that there may be a law suit against this doctor for stealing patient information. Is any of this legal? I think we may have grounds for a class action law suit.

Can Someone Explain the Inpatient Rehab “level” System?

Question by : Can someone explain the inpatient rehab “level” system?
My boyfriend is in an inpatient rehab facility because of his drug use and threatened suicide. His mom told me he’s a “level 2” and I can’t communicate with him at all until hes a “level 3.” Can someone please explain what this means and what he has to do to be a “level 3” so I can talk to him again? I really miss him :(

Drug Rehab Facility: The Uncommon Aspect of a Drug Rehab Facility

Very often, it is heard that a drug rehab program brings about recovery of drug abuse, provocation and addiction. But, how is it done? Obviously, due to the various drug rehab programs that are used in a drug recovery facility. The rehab centers can provide you with a number of abuse rehab facilities. The individual attention is one of the most basic aspects of a drug abuse rehab center. Through this, a number of individuals are benefited and it is more than any other processes. Here, stress is given upon an individual where his addiction towards a specific element is assessed through interaction.

The most uncommon aspect of drug rehab facility is that it is legally bounded under the DRR or the Drug Rehabilitation Requirements. The DRR forms a communal basis that regulates drug violence and provocation in a society. It also involves various forms of treatments. The recovery facility in any rehab center includes nurtured food, private screening and mass education.

Can You Run a Business Out of Your Condo in NYC?

Question by Lola: Can you run a business out of your condo in NYC?
Long story short. I’m a med student. I will become a practitioner soon. I wanted to open my own small “center”. I will perform small things. Detox/Homeopathic/Naturotherapy sort of stuff. I don’t expect it to be busy. Maybe 2-3 people (at most) at a time in my condo. I was going to block off one part to live..and the other to conduct business. It would obviously not be a loud business and I doubt anyone would know I’m running one from there. I also am interested in doing taxes. However, I know there are rules.

I have seen several businesses being run from homes here in NYC. They have their business downstairs, and live upstairs. Thing is, I don’t have 550k+ to put down on a home. :-/
